The fishing
Guided Chinook salmon on the pristine waters around Haida Gwaii — professional boats and gear, and a guide who has fished these grounds their whole life.
A guided day
Days on a multi-day package are full days of guided fishing. Professional equipment, the boat and boat fees, and your fishing licence are all part of the package — you bring yourself and your sense of adventure.
Because one of Clint’s sons guides every trip, the day is shaped around your party rather than a schedule — whether it’s your first time on a downrigger or your fortieth season chasing salmon.
What you’ll fish for
The prize
The king of the Pacific and the fish these waters are known for — hard-fighting Chinook are the heart of every Majestic Charters trip.
Halibut & more
The waters around Haida Gwaii are famed for halibut, lingcod and rockfish alongside the salmon. Ask the family what’s biting for your dates.
More than fishing
Guests regularly share the water with dolphins and whales — the kind of day on the Pacific you don’t forget.
Chinook salmon and the dolphins and whales are drawn from The Majestic Charters’ own descriptions. Halibut, lingcod and rockfish reflect the wider Haida Gwaii fishery — confirm the target species and current season directly with the family when you enquire.
The grounds
Haida Gwaii sits on the Pacific rim of British Columbia, just south of Alaska — a remote archipelago whose surrounding waters are renowned among anglers the world over. Lawnhill, on the sheltered east coast of Graham Island, is the family’s home base and your launch point.
Just here for a day?
Already on the island? The family also runs one-day charters from US$600 a day for two guests — a typical 6 a.m. start (tide depending), with all fishing and safety gear, lunch and non-alcoholic drinks aboard.
